              What Causes Unemployment

      One social phenomenon that is difficult to overcome is unemployment. Many interpret that unemployment is when adults do not work or do not have work, are looking for work, or do not have jobs in a format, and do not have income.

      Unemployment occurs because the person does not have the will to work or find work or does not have certain skills so that his time is only spent at home or just playing every day. Some even expect the mercy of those around them.

           Some basic factors that cause unemployment include not having the conditions to work such as a diploma, then less skilled and skilled in finding work, lack of knowledge, and unable to compete with other workers. In addition, there have recently been large-scale layoffs due to the covid-19 outbreak, which forced some factories to issue the decree or to lay off temporary employees.

       Then what is the result of so much unemployment? the most obvious thing is economic and social problems for people who experience them.

       Because unemployment automatically does not get an income so it cannot buy the necessities to fulfill daily life. In addition, when the amount of unemployment is too large, social chaos will arise, the number of homeless people increases, and the potential for crime rises.

       So we know that unemployment is a big problem that must be resolved immediately. There are several things that can be done, including by improving employment opportunities.Because there are more jobs, unemployment also decreases. If unemployment decreases, the crime rate can also be reduced at the same time. Another way that can be done is to improve the graduate degree produced and adjusted to the needs of the labor market.

      So that it will be exactly in accordance with the talents and interests of scholars. The role of the government is also very important in dealing with the large number of unemployment at this time, especially now that in Indonesia is being affected by co-19, the government must create programs that can help factory employees or others who are temporarily closed in order to avoid further economic disparities. And the government must be more vigorous in promoting the BLK program (Balai Latihan Kerja) or office training hall ,so that it can increase the competence of the community in competing in opening a business or finding work.

        Another thing we can do is to open up jobs for others so that we also participate in reducing unemployment as well as poverty in this country.
